Introduction

The Saint Andrew’s School (SAS) website serves as a resource for individuals both inside and outside of the SAS community. The site functions as a central means of communication among faculty, parents, students, trustees, and alumni. Prospective families and employees are also included in its target audience. Users are able to access up-to-date news, calendars, schedules, and other school information such as the school’s mission, history, curriculum, admissions materials, and campus map. This policy seeks to address these uses and to be flexible enough to meet future needs as they occur.

Because the SAS website is an official school publication, the Saint Andrew's School Communications Team has been appointed to serve as the monitor of the site. The Communications Team is charged with regularly reviewing the school's web pages to ensure that the information presented is accurate, consistent, and up-to-date, and that design elements are uniform. Also, the Communications Team serves as the contact for any visitors who have questions about the site.

The Communications Team also maintains direct contact with each division and office of the school to ensure the needs of their constituencies are being recognized and addressed. The Communications Team will assist, empower, and train divisions and offices with the creation, publication, maintenance, and updating of an office or division's web pages. Members of the SAS Community should direct comments, concerns, questions, suggestions, and requests concerning the site to the Communications Team.

Maintenance and Privacy Regulations of website Content

So that the site serves as a reliable resource for prospective students and employees, as well as for parents, current students, alumni, faculty, trustees, and members of the academic community, it must contain timely information. Each office and division must review and maintain its section of the Web site and work to ensure that it is current and relevant.

Persons wishing to post announcements on the home page or other portions of the Web site should submit their request through email to the Communications Team. Postings are at the discretion of the Communications Team.

Photographs on the main site are changed on an as needed by theCommunications Team and trained school personnel. Student’s names may be posted to the site and its online publications to highlight achievement but student safety needs to be taken in to account overall. Care must be taken especially with the students in the Lower School.

Personal contact information for students, parents, and faculty, including home and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and other information that could be used by unauthorized individuals, will not be published on the public portion of the SAS Web site without prior permission. Student, parent, and school employee contact information is available through a secure, password-protected portal (MySA) on the SAS website.
